RecipeGifts.com and Aunt Lisa's Recipe Gifts are part of PhotoSynthesis (www.photosynthesisia.com), a brick and mortar shop located in beautiful downtown Ames, Iowa. Our shop, opened on January 5, 2009, specializes in saving your memories through custom photo art. We also offer design services as well as photo services like scanning, video transfers, digital photo restoration & more. My name is Lisa Hovis, the owner and graphic designer/digital artist of my shop, and I've been designing and selling my work in various forms since 2001, when I'd returned from a 2-year stay in France ready to start a creative online business. Online shopping then was pretty new, do you remember first buying online?! Over the years, my focus has always been to save your memories in unique and creative ways.

P.S. The photo at the top is me, my older brother, and my mom in my grandma Esmer's kitchen. My grandma Esmer was so special to me. We were lucky to live just 16 miles away so could visit often. I remember her teaching us to say Norwegian words from a well-loved child's reader of hers. It was tattered and worn. Here we are making breakfast. Usually grandma treated us to making her homemade dollar pancakes. Why do small things just taste better? Probably because my grandma made them with love. :)
